Cure for the Blood Curse
Status: Active — Components Gathering Subjects: Meldir, possibly Dax (shadow curse is separate) Source: Crimson Concord research; Valkyrian’s tomb
The The Crimson Concord came very close to removing vampiric blood hunger entirely. Their ritual failed not because it was wrong, but because they took life instead of receiving it willingly.
The Ritual Requirements
Four components have been identified from the Concord’s research notes:
| Component | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Vampire Heart | ❌ Not collected | Required; source TBD |
| Ritual Residue | ✅ Collected | Crystal Heart fluid; scooped into jar from Valkyrian’s shattered crystal heart |
| A Survivor | ❓ Possible | The unnamed woman recovered from the tomb — went through a similar ritual; may qualify |
| A Crystal | ❓ Unknown | Type unspecified; may connect to Meldir’s Nautiloid crystals or Chardalyn |
The Critical Rule
“Life must be given, not taken.”
All previous Concord attempts failed because the ritual required willing sacrifice. Previous subjects either refused or were used unwillingly. This is the component the Concord always lacked.
Known Leads
- Zara Fell Von — A living Crimson Concord member; name appeared throughout Valkyrian’s notes. May know how to complete the ritual.
- The Unnamed Woman (from the tomb) — survived a similar ritual; may be the “Survivor” component or may have knowledge of one
- Research Notes (150-250 GP value) — reduce ritual costs; party recovered from the sanctum
- Alaric Razor — Has been researching both curses; may have leads on the Vampire Heart or Crystal components
