Meldir was a prisoner aboard this Mind Flayer ship before it crashed. He was found by Elaris Vairen, Brindor Fable, and Thalia Thornfrost and brought to Termalaine.

The Crystal

A purple crystal recovered from the crash is acting as a distress beacon — sending Meldir messages urging him to find the ship. (Not Chardalyn — exact name unknown) Why Meldir specifically is unclear.
